EDUCATION RELEASED
The Governor's Committee on Educational Excellence has finally been released. It was thought to be a dead duck when the state got "surprised" with a shortage of billions of dollars at budget making time. Yes, this is the same as the embargoed copy you got a chance to see back in January (January 10 CTC Watch issue). Now it has been officially released and is intended to bring with it hope for saving education after all. Who could argue with their conclusion that: "The
real efficiencies arise when professionals are able to focus their
attention on raising student achievement instead of figuring out how to
work around a system that impedes them at every turn."
